Vellum in a dream: what does it mean?
Calfskin scraped and stretched into a writing surface, which is why documents written on it are still readable and the paper ones are not.
How do the four traditions read it?

Freud would attend to the cost. A single book meant a herd, so what got written down had already survived a decision about whether it was worth an animal, and he would ask what the dreamer thought worth that.
