What does it mean to dream about seed?
A seed often pictures potential, a beginning held in small form, something not yet grown but already alive with possibility.
Four ways to read it
Each reading below comes from a named tradition and a cited source, so you can see where it came from and decide what fits your dream.
Freud
Freud would note that a seed can carry the idea of conception and creation, sometimes in a frankly bodily sense. It may also stand for a wish in its earliest, hidden stage, kept small and safe. What you did with the seed, planting or hoarding it, can colour the reading.

Jung might see the seed as an image of the self in potential, the whole future tree folded into a small kernel. It speaks of growth that is not yet realised but already complete in promise. Planting a seed can mark a turn toward something the psyche is ready to develop.
Jungian concept (our summary).Modern
Under continuity, seeds tend to follow waking thoughts about new projects, hopes, and slow beginnings. A seed you tend may mirror plans you are nurturing, while one left dry can track a stalled idea. Ask what you have recently started or hoped to start.
Continuity hypothesis (our summary).Mythological
Across cultures the seed is the great emblem of life renewing itself, buried in the dark only to rise again. Grain that dies in the earth and returns as harvest shaped many old stories of death and rebirth. So the seed holds the promise that small beginnings carry whole futures.
