What does it mean to dream about pride?
Pride in a dream often reflects a sense of worth or accomplishment, and noticing what it was attached to can show what you value or want recognized.
Four ways to read it
Each reading below comes from a named tradition and a cited source, so you can see where it came from and decide what fits your dream.
Freud
Freud would read pride as the satisfaction of the ego, a wish for esteem finding its moment in sleep. He held that the mind grants itself the standing it craves, sometimes to balance a waking sense of being slighted. The feeling can mark a longing to be valued.
After Freud, The Interpretation of Dreams (Brill trans., 1913), public domain.Jung
Jung would see pride as the self affirming its worth, though he watched for the inflation that comes when the ego forgets its limits. Healthy pride can mark a true step toward who one is becoming. He would ask whether the feeling rests on real ground or on a borrowed image.
Jungian concept (our summary).Modern
Continuity research ties dream pride to waking achievement and the wish for recognition the mind keeps turning over. Some accounts suggest positive dreaming reinforces what feels like success. The feeling is worth weighing against what you have lately worked toward.
Continuity hypothesis (our summary).Mythological
Myth warned of pride that climbed too high, Icarus toward the sun, Arachne against the goddess, and it honored the just pride of the hero who earned his name. The feeling stood on a knife's edge between dignity and downfall. Across cultures it was praised in measure and punished in excess.
