What does it mean to dream about mansion?
A mansion often stands for the fuller self with many rooms to explore, or for wealth, status, and the wish for a grander life.
Four ways to read it
Each reading below comes from a named tradition and a cited source, so you can see where it came from and decide what fits your dream.
Freud
Freud would read the mansion as the self made grand, ambitions and pride housed in a great building. Its many rooms can hold wishes both shown and hidden. Note whether you own the house or are a guest within it.
After Freud, The Interpretation of Dreams (Brill trans., 1913), public domain.Jung
Jung often pictured the house as the psyche, and a mansion is that self with far more rooms than you usually visit. Discovering new wings can mark untapped parts of who you are. Ask which rooms you have never opened.
Jungian concept (our summary).Modern
Under the continuity view, a mansion may reflect waking thoughts about wealth, status, or a wish for more in life. It can also echo a sense of having more within you than you use. Consider what abundance you long for or already hold.
Continuity hypothesis (our summary).Mythological
The great hall and the lordly house appear across story as seats of power and plenty, sometimes enchanted places of wonder. To dwell in such a house was to hold rank and fortune. The mansion keeps that old image of grandeur.
