What does it mean to dream about genie?
A genie in a dream often pictures wishes within reach, a sudden power to change things, or the catch hidden inside getting exactly what you ask for.
Four ways to read it
Each reading below comes from a named tradition and a cited source, so you can see where it came from and decide what fits your dream.
Freud
Freud would read the wish-granting spirit as the dream's own engine, desire offered fulfilment directly. The familiar twist, that wishes go wrong, may voice unease about wanting too freely. Ask what you would ask for and what you fear it might cost.

Jung might see the genie as a power released from confinement, energy long bottled now at your command. Such freed force can serve or overwhelm depending on the asking. The dream may point to a capacity in you newly available, and how you would use it.
Jungian concept (our summary).Modern
Under the continuity view, a genie often reflects waking longing for a quick solution, a windfall, or a wish you can hardly admit. It can surface when a problem feels beyond ordinary effort. Notice what you wished for and whether the granting pleased you.
Continuity hypothesis (our summary).Mythological
In Middle Eastern lore the jinn are spirits of fire who may grant wishes, though the bargain often turns on the exact words used. They sit where great power meets great risk. The image tends to ask what you truly want and whether you would mean it.
