What does it mean to dream about sled?
A sled often pictures gliding downhill with little control, carried by the slope and the season as much as by your own effort.
Four ways to read it
Each reading below comes from a named tradition and a cited source, so you can see where it came from and decide what fits your dream.
Freud
Freud might read the downhill rush as pleasure mixed with surrender, the drive let loose down a slope. He could ask whether the descent delights you or whether you wish you could slow it.
After Freud, The Interpretation of Dreams (Brill trans., 1913), public domain.Jung
Jung might see the sled as a return to childhood play and the lighter self, carried by forces larger than the will. The image can speak of letting go and trusting the slope.
Jungian concept (our summary).Modern
Continuity links sleds to winter, childhood memory, or recent snow. The dream may echo a wish for simpler joy, or the feeling of being carried along faster than you chose.
Continuity hypothesis (our summary).Mythological
Across cultures the runner over snow and ice belongs to the northern winter and its swift, silent travel. It is an old image of being borne by the cold land itself.
