What does it mean to dream about pony?
A pony often points to a gentler, smaller form of freedom and strength, or to a childhood wish, fondness, or sense of play.
Four ways to read it
Each reading below comes from a named tradition and a cited source, so you can see where it came from and decide what fits your dream.
Freud
Freud might read the pony, a horse in miniature, as an image of energy and desire scaled to childhood feeling. A longed-for pony could picture an early wish the dreamer still carries. He would ask what the pony brings to mind from your own past.

For Jung the pony can image a friendly, manageable form of instinctual power, strength you can be at ease with. Caring for or riding one may speak to a gentle, youthful part of yourself.
Jungian concept (our summary).Modern
In continuity terms a pony may simply echo a childhood memory, a riding lesson, or a fond image. The feeling tone usually points back to a waking wish for play, freedom, or simpler days.
Continuity hypothesis (our summary).Mythological
British and Irish lore is full of small, hardy ponies of moor and hill, and some tales blur them with the water horse that lures riders away. Phrase and fable also tie the pony to play and to small stakes won or lost.
